Tom went lure coursing as a yearling and easily finished his ASFA field championship.  He was shown a few times as a youngster, winning a large 12 - 18 month class at the 1987 BCOA National.  As a 2 year old, Tom was shown 11 times, winning the points 7 times and earning his American Championship with 3 majors.  Next he completed his ASFA Lure Courser of Merit title.  Tom was shown only 3 times in Canada, earning his Canadian Championship in 1991 with a 3 point win and 2 five point wins.  At 6 years of age, Tom returned to lure coursing to earn the AKC Senior Courser title.  Tom won the 1993 MBC Veteran sweepstakes under Grace Conally, and was then retired.  Tom loved to show, and he was so easy and so much fun to handle in the ring.  Many of Tom's children inherited not only his structure and abundant coat, but also Tom's showmanship and his love for lure coursing.  Tom lived peacefully all his life with our cats and our other dogs.  As he grew older, he spent more and more time in our house, reclining on his favorite couch.  We are grateful for the time we had with Tom.
