Sunday August 16: Practice from 9 am to noon, Fenced Field at 1899 Hilt Road, Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387. Enter that day for $10 (Junior Courser test), practice ($2 per run), ASFA certification test ($5 per test). Roll-call JC test # 1 is 10 am, judge Frances Abrams. Roll-call JC test # 2 is 11 am, judge Tracy Leonard. Secretary Carol Artley email AKC entry forms JC premium Directions: From I-70, take route 68 south 5 miles, & turn left (east) on Jackson Road. (If you pass Young’s Dairy, you missed Jackson Road). Go 1/10th of a mile & turn right (south) on Mosier Road. Go about 1 mile & turn left (east) on Hilt Road. First house on right (about a mile). From Dayton, take I-675 & exit onto Dayton-Yellow-Springs Road where you turn right towards Yellow Springs. (This is not the exit for Twin Towers Park). Go past the shopping center & continue 7 miles into Yellow Springs, where the road will “T” at Route 68. Turn left (north), & then turn right (east) at the first traffic light (route 343). Go 1.5 miles, and turn left (north) at first road, which is Meredith Road. Go to first road, & turn right at Hilt Road. First house on the right (about a mile).
August 29-30: ASFA trials at Twin Towers Park. Roll-call 8:30 am. Early entries close August 26, for $15 per hound. Day-of-trial entries are $25 per hound & close at 8 am. Secretary Charlene Byrum email. No Junior Courser tests, no practice, no certification tests and no Fun Run - Sorry.
October 3-4: AKC trials at Twin Towers Park (roll-call 9:30 am) & junior courser tests (roll-call 8:30 am). Day-of-trial entries close 30 minutes before roll-call. Secretary Denise Tresselt email. No practice, no certification tests and no Fun Run - Sorry.
February 20, 2010: AKC Lure Coursing Judges Seminar in Columbus, sponsored by OKIGO. (details later).
Directions to TWIN TOWERS PARK Yellow Springs Fairfield Road, Fairborn, Ohio (east of Dayton)
From South: I-75 to south of Dayton. Take I-675 (northeast) about 20 miles. Exit at Route 235 (Fairborn) and turn left on route 235 north. Go 0.5 miles and turn right at Yellow-Springs-Fairfield Road. Go 3.5 miles to the Park on the right.
From North/West: I-70 to east of Dayton, then exit on I-675 south. (ignore the route 235 exit off of I-70). On I-675 go south 3 miles and exit at Route 235 (Fairborn). Go right on route 235 north 0.5 miles and turn right at Yellow-Springs-Fairfield Road. Go 3.5 miles to the Park.
From East: I-70 to west of Springfield, then exit on route 68 south (Xenia/Yellow Springs). On route 68 go south 6 miles, past Young's Dairy, and turn right at Yellow-Springs-Fairfield Road. Go 2 miles to the Park on the left. The coursing field is next to the pavilion. The park is mostly fenced and the coursing field is some distance from the road, which does not have a lot of traffic.
