September 11 & 12 - ASFA trials at Deep River park.  ASFA judges are Scott Hulbert, Ping Pirrung & Lee Warden.  Practice & picnic on Saturday after the trial.   Junior Courser tests & Qualified Courser tests (judge Lee Warden) & practice on Sunday after the trial.  (premium will be posted here in August).

October 23 & 24 - ASFA trials at Stoney Run park.  Junior Courser tests & Qualified Courser tests (judge Judy Jazdzyk) & practice on Saturday after the trial. Junior Courser tests & Qualified Courser tests (judge Amy Balthrop) & practice on Sunday after the trial.

 * Effective 1 January 2010, a dog must earn the "QC" before he can be entered in an AKC trial for the first time, or already have earned a Field Championship from ASFA or from the Canadian Kennel Club.  To earn the Qualified Courser certificate, a hound at least 12 months of age (Qualifying Hound) running with another hound of the same breed, or another breed with a similar running style (Testing Hound) shall receive certification from a licensed AKC coursing judge.  The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption, sufficiently course the lure and not course the Testing Hound. 

Directions to Stoney Run Park -  From I-65, exit at Crown Point route 231, & go east on route 231 (away from Crown Point about 3 miles.  Just past the small town of Leroy, turn left (north) on 145th Ave.  There is a Stoney Run sign at this intersection.  Follow 145th Ave about 2 miles to Stoney Run park on the left.

Directions to Deep River Park -  From I-65, exit US Route 30 east.  Go east on route 30, about 4 miles to Randolph Road which has a stop light. Turn left (north) on Randolph Rd.  Continue north on Randolph Road which dead ends at Ainsworth Road. Turn right on Ainsworth Rd. The site entrance is a dirt road on the right, just before the small bridge.
